How Sciton Halo Works

Halo’s unique hybrid technology uses two different laser wavelengths to target the skin’s epidermal and dermal layers simultaneously. The non-ablative wavelength (1470 nm) penetrates deep into the skin to usher in new collagen production and address deep pigmentation issues. The ablative wavelength (2940 nm) creates controlled micro-injuries on the skin’s surface, promoting rapid healing and addressing superficial concerns.

By treating both skin layers simultaneously, Halo triggers the skin’s natural healing process more effectively than single-wavelength treatments. This dual-action approach stimulates collagen production, accelerates cell turnover and improves overall skin quality.

What to Expect During a Halo Session

When you arrive for your Halo treatment at Radiant Skin, you’ll be warmly greeted and escorted to a private treatment room. Our experienced practitioner will review your treatment plan and address any questions or concerns you may have. The treatment process is designed to be comfortable and efficient.

We begin with a thorough cleansing of your skin to remove makeup or oils. A topical anesthetic is then applied to ensure your comfort during the procedure. Protective eyewear will shield your eyes from the laser light as you lay back and relax.

As the Halo device is passed over your skin, you may feel a warming sensation. The integrated cooling technology in the Halo handpiece helps maintain your comfort throughout the treatment. Many patients mention it feels like warm prickles or a mild sunburn.

The duration of the treatment depends on the size of the area being treated. After the procedure, a cooling mask may be applied to soothe your skin and minimize discomfort.
